Many have heard the story of how Iceland and Greenland got their names: Apparently it goes back to the Viking era, and when Iceland was discovered it was known how beautiful it was, and then the Vikings realized it, they didn’t want others to come and visit this island, so, they gave it a rather uninviting name: Iceland. And then when they found out how awful Greenland was, and how treacherous it was and snowy and barren it was, then gave it the better name, hoping to send people their instead to keep people from coming to Iceland. So, they named that awful island: Greenland. So the story goes. And as they proceeded to discover the country more and more, they were “awe struck” by it’s beauty. And here are some of the amazing things they have discovered:

Can I just say, if you haven’t been around a volcano, these things are pretty scary.
