Photos of the Week: An amazing pictorial of ICELAND !

Many have heard the story of how Iceland and Greenland got their names: Apparently it goes back to the Viking era, and when Iceland was discovered it was known how beautiful it was, and then the Vikings realized it, they didn’t want others to come and visit this island, so, they gave it a rather uninviting name: Iceland. And then when they found out how awful Greenland was, and how treacherous it was and snowy and barren it was, then gave it the better name, hoping to send people their instead to keep people from coming to Iceland. So, they named that awful island: Greenland. So the story goes. And as they proceeded to discover the country more and more, they were “awe struck” by it’s beauty. And here are some of the amazing things they have discovered:

The above photo when I first saw this practically took my breath away. What a magnificent photo of Iceland. I am so glad we have good photographers who can share their talents and give us this pictorial.

📍 Waterfall Gullfoss, Iceland

The stunning canyon of Sigoldugljufur, Iceland.
Have you ever seen so many waterfalls in one canyon in your life? This is amazing.

Although it has yet to be built, American designer Alex Hogrefe has created some incredible concept images of a sprawling apartment perched on the edge of a cliff in Iceland.

Seems that Iceland has it all. This must be a little more unique than Hawaii because this lava is flowing into the snow.

Can I just say, if you haven’t been around a volcano, these things are pretty scary.

There is one of the most breathtaking pictorials I have ever put together. Imagine having that kind of scenery all in one country? Well, I hope you have enjoyed this gallery of photos from this amazing country of ICELAND. If you would like to see more, go to this website: https://www.facebook.com/Iceland099/
