Photos of the Week: 9/13/2018! The beauty of Russia !

Russia – home of the 2018 World cup
Russia has had some good spotlight recently with this country holding the 2018 World Cup Soccer. Soccer or Football was seemingly the only thing we got to see about Russia this time. I watched the World Cup with anticipation to see more of Russia. But, they really did not show much of Russia. Is it such a mysterious country that there is nothing to show? I have some friends that have been to Russia, and they say that it is a beautiful country and people are missing out on the beauty of this country. So, I dug into the internet and found some beautiful photos of this country. I hope you enjoy this Photo Gallery of Russia, and if you get a chance, it looks like to me, a place worth visiting:

Beautiful and mysterious: but was Lake Cheko formed from the exploding Tunguska meteorite? Russian scientists deny theory of respected Italian team by ‘proving’ that the remote blue lake is older than the famous 1908. If the Tunguska explosion did not cause this magical lake to form, what did? It does not appear to be ancient, perhaps only hundreds or thousands of years old.

Russia is a multi-national country, being home for more than 180 ethnic groups and different religions. Ethnic Russians with their Slavic Ortodox culture, Tatars and Bashkirs with their Turkic muslim culture, Bhuddist and lamaistic Buryats and Kalmyks, shamanistic peoples of the Far North and Siberia, highlanders of the Northern Caucausus, Finno-Ugric peoples of the Russian North-West and Volga region — all of them contribute to diverse and rich culture of Russia. The ethnic culture is preserved in various museums and ethno-parks, reproduced in cuisine, architecture, cinema and arts, and developed by folk bands, dance ensembles and choirs.
Russian is the official state language, but the Constitution gives the individual republics the right to make their native language co-official next to Russian. Russian is the most geographically widespread language of Eurasia and the most widely spoken Slavic language.
Russian Orthodox Church has been official religion before the Soviet time and diminished during the USSR period. Now it plays a significant role in the spiritual life of Russian people. Islam is the religion practice for nearly 20% of Russians. Buddhism and Lamaism is traditional on the East of the country. Catholicism, Judaism, Protestantism also exists but not widely spread.

Their ornate buildings have always been a trademark of the culture of Russia

St Petersburg, known as ‘Venice of the North’ contains various canals and more than 400 bridges within the city. With its UNESCO-listed Historic Centre, Winter Palace, Saint Isaac’s Cathedral and Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, it’s no surprise that St Petersburg’s architecture is one of its main attractions. The city also embraces its many charming parks, including the Alexander Garden – St Petersburg’s most central park, home to an illuminated musical fountain and the Botanical Gardens home to numerous beautiful plants, and being Russia’s only botanic gardens.

Is it cold in Russia? The answer is yes! Cold enough that frost will form on your eyelashes. Coats and scarves in Russia are made warmer than the usual places, like the USA or other countries. Because the cold is so much colder here.

This is quite a collection of photos of Russia. I am sorry that the photos do not have many captions, but, my sources did not have them. But, as you can see, it is a beautiful place. I hope you can see that this country is a beautiful country and if we can get more professional photographers in there to get some more beautiful photos, we could have a real good pictorial.
