Ahhh, when I think of the Bahamas, I think of beautiful beaches, lovely sunsets, wonderful palm trees, and pigs swimming in the ocean! This is a wonderful group of islands east of Florida. In fact there are over 700 islands that make up the Bahamas, although most of these islands are unihabited. The Bahamas are their own country and are actually part of the United Nations.

With all this tourism, where does the food come from? Well only 1% of the land is even used for agriculture. Sugar Cane, cassava, fruits and mangos, grapefruits, dates, bananas, and vegetables are the main agricultural food raised here. Over 80% of the food is imported.
